Emerging from the vikings of Norway, and the people of Ireland, comes Sir Timothy...(just kidding). I'm Tim, not Timmy, not Timothy. I play keyboards, sing, play percussion (not drumsets) and produce and mix sound for a hobby. My major is International Studies and I attend Manhattan College in Riverdale, NY (aka, the Bronx - the only other place in the world besides the Hague with the word "the" in its title).
Being that it is the predominant discussion of my life, I will now list my all-time favourite band, performing artists, and composers as well as things I despise in this life:
I enjoy tremendously the craft of Led Zeppelin, The Who, John Williams, Rick Wakeman, Emerson Lake and Palmer, Vaughen Williams, Aerosmith, and The Beatles (from early 1966 onward ONLY).
I despise most modern bands under the following criteria: disrespect for the bass guitar, guitar solos, jamming in a rock setting, lack of arrogance, malaise attitude, act of standing up on stage simply playing one's instruments without any entertainment, and finally, singing and songwriting based on and sounding like everything else within its genre from the past decade.
I do, however, admire a large, large number of modern popular, semi-populuar, and underground acts. Don't get me wrong.
Some of these include: Supergrass, Ben Folds Five, Collective Soul, Dave Matthews Band, Dispatch, Stereolab, The Skels, Metallica, Floggin Molly, Dropkick Murpheys, and the Beta Band.
